Design

Wellfleet utilizes a highly polished nude elliptical stylus, eliminating the bonding between the stylus tip and shank. With the new assembly, excessive mass in the shank is cut away to further reduce tip mass, resulting in a faster, more direct, and more accurate response of the stylus movement by the cantilever and magnet. Sonically, this increases speed and focuses central images, pulling them toward the listener with a heightened sense for detail.

Upgrade Path

Pro-Ject's latest range of MM cartridges is comprised of Rainier, Olympia, Moonstone, Wellfleet & Amethyst (not to mention the RS 78 replacement stylus). All styli are physically interchangeable and all cartridge bodies are identical except for Amethyst, which uses an improved anatomy to bolster the performance of the line-contact diamond. Long & short, you have 2 cartridge bodies & 6 replacement styli to choose from, enabling you to shape sonics to suit your preferences!
