"William DeVaughn in the early 70s was a part time singer and government employee. He wrote a song called 'A Cadillac Dont Come Easy', which was eventually re-written to become 'Be Thankful for What You Got', in 1972. Recorded at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia, the session featured an array of talented members of the MFSB group. With a sound and content influenced by Curtis Mayfield, its simple and encouraging lyrics hit home, to the extent that its become an enduring soulful, disco hit for music aficionados all over the world. Now presented here in a brand new 12' sleeve and backed with the beautiful 'Blood Is Thicker Than Water' on side B." - Demon Records
